Mangia Bene
Welcome to Mangia Bene, a charming spot nestled in the heart of London at 18 Chapel Market. This cafe is the epitome of traditional Italian dining, where each dish narrates a story of culinary passion and authenticity. With a menu designed to cater to all palates, it’s no wonder that this eatery has quickly become a beloved destination for both locals and visitors alike.
At Mangia Bene, the star of the show is undoubtedly their pizza. The Ferrari F40 Pizza stands out as a fan favorite, boasting rich tomato, gooey mozzarella cheese, pepperoni sausage, and vibrant peppers, all encased in a perfectly baked crust—all for just £12.95. The Calzone Mangia Bene, a folded delight filled with ham and pepperoni sausage, is equally compelling at £15.50. For those who lean towards simplicity, the classic Margherita Pizza, priced at £9.95, delivers a delightful combination of tomato, oregano, and mozzarella cheese that speaks volumes through its minimalism.
But it’s not just about pizza. Their starters, particularly the Bruschetta Tradizionale, offer a lovely introduction to the meal, with fresh toppings and a price point of just £5.50. The pasta dishes are equally impressive; I was particularly taken by the Penne all’Amatriciana with pancetta and fresh tomato sauce, offered at £11.95. The rich flavors kept me coming back with each bite.
- Pasta Dishes: Dive into a variety of options ranging from Risotto alla Marinara—a masterpiece with king prawns and mussels—to flavorful homemade pasta like Fettuccine al Salmone.
- Meat Lovers: The Scaloppine alla Pizzaiola has a delightful tomato and olive sauce, while the Tagliata di Manzo al Balsamico is served on a bed of rocket topped with Parmesan—a dish that sings of quality.
The ambience at Mangia Bene is welcoming and friendly, making it a perfect venue for family gatherings or special occasions. As Christopher Hayward noted, the staff are engaging, and the food delicious, ensuring a pleasurable experience every time. Visitors can enjoy lovely open-front dining, which further enhances the atmosphere as you savor your meal.
What truly sets Mangia Bene apart is the personal touch. As Nathalia Schultz experienced, the chef himself often makes rounds to check on diners, emphasizing the importance of customer satisfaction. This charming gesture is a testament to their commitment to service and quality.
In summary, if you find yourself in London, make it a point to visit Mangia Bene. Indulge in their exquisite dishes, savor the flavors, and allow yourself to be transported to the heart of Italy, right from your table. The aromas envelop you, the tastes linger on your palate, and each visit promises to leave you with a memorable experience that is simply delightful.

Came here for a family get-together while visiting London for the day. Chosen for location and good reviews with a menu to suit all tastes. Was not disappointed! Had a lovely evening and the staff were friendly and engaging. Food was delicious and the evening flew by. Definitely recommended if you’re in the area. Too busy enjoying the evening so no pics of the food! Pasta was excellent. Daughter enjoyed a well made pizza and others had main course chicken and fish - both enjoyed. All well made.

I recently had the most delightful experience at MANGIA BENE! The risotto I ordered was absolutely phenomenal. Not only was it cooked to perfection, but the flavors were so rich and satisfying. What truly impressed me was when the chef himself came to our table to ensure everything was to our liking. That personal touch made the meal even more memorable. The aroma wafting from the kitchen was intoxicating, setting the perfect ambiance for a delightful dining experience. And to top it off, I requested to add crispy pancetta on top of my risotto, and the chef agreed immediately, further enhancing the dish. The combination of incredible food, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening. I can't wait to return!
